What We Do
At JVW, we offer psychotherapy both in person and remotely in order to make the therapeutic work fit into your life and busy days.
I follow the adage that “nothing goes away until it has taught us what we need to know”, and I hope to support both individuals and couples to process and implement these discoveries we make together.
It takes time to uncover everything we grapple with, and I create a safe space to explore the things in life that make us feel stuck. With empathy and insight I promote processing, healing, and growth from the challenges that life inevitably brings.
Ketamine-Assisted Individual Therapy
I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) through an Emotionally Focused and Humanistic lens, creating a compassionate and grounded space for exploration and healing. In our work together, ketamine serves as a catalyst for emotional openness and insight, while the therapeutic relationship provides the safety and attunement needed to process what arises.
My approach emphasizes connection to self, to others, and to meaning, helping clients access deeper emotional truths, release old patterns, and cultivate self-compassion. Each session is tailored to support integration, ensuring that insights gained during the experience translate into lasting emotional growth and well-being.
Couples Therapy
I have a special interest in working with couples to improve their communication and dynamics in relational contexts. I have found that working with the couple as a unit also helps both individuals grow on their own as well. I learn so much about people from being able to witness them in conversation with their significant others, and it is powerful and enriching to be able to track our patterns happening in real time in the session. Couples work encourages us to step outside of the familiar conversations we are stuck in and identify the hopes and needs under the problems we bring to therapy.
Whether you're in the midst of a crisis or simply looking to enhance your relationship, couples therapy is a proactive step towards building a resilient and fulfilling partnership.
Ketamine-Assisted Group Therapy
We also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in a group setting, guided by an Emotionally Focused Framework that emphasizes safety, connection, and shared healing. Group KAP allows participants to explore their inner worlds while feeling supported by the presence and empathy of others.
Through this relational process, individuals learn to deepen emotional awareness, expand compassion, and strengthen their capacity for authentic connection, both within themselves and in their relationships beyond the group.
EMDR Trained
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR is a treatment to process traumatic memories. I have a great deal of experience working with adults who have gone through trauma and need to safely process it while identifying triggers and recognizing their resiliency and coping strategies. When we practice EMDR, I carefully guide you toward accessing traumatic events and reprocessing them in order to repair with the hope of reducing symptoms.
About Jenna Van Wagner
I am Jenna Van Wagner, a Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Los Angeles, CA. I was licensed in 2013.
I work from various psychotherapeutic orientations, as I have found wisdom and value in many and can apply that to each client specifically in our work together. The modalities and treatment approaches that I lean into most often are Humanistic, EMDR, Meditative, and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy.
I am trained in EMDR therapy and hold a Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). I have also completed Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Training for Providers through the Alchemy Community Therapy Center. My integrative approach draws on evidence-based methods and emerging research in trauma and psychedelic-assisted therapies to support deep healing and personal growth.
